New Homeowner Experiences a “Touch of Luxury” at Citrus Park by Landsea Homes

Goodyear, AZ (April 9, 2024) – As Crystal Rajab anticipates her under-construction home, she can easily imagine what it will be like when she moves in. And not just because it replicates the model home.

“I’m an over-planner and have a degree in drafting,” said the electrical designer, who has already entered the home’s layout in a computer program to figure out how and where all of her furniture will fit.

Crystal is scheduled to move into the home with her ten-year-old son, Amir, in July or August and is excited for the day.

“I have a lot of visions of what our new home will be like,” Crystal said.

She is among the new homeowners in the Mandarin neighborhood at Citrus Park, a master-planned community by Landsea Homes just west of Goodyear, Arizona.

The Mandarin neighborhood features houses ranging from about 1,700 to 2,300 square feet with three to five bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms in four separate floor plans. When completed, Citrus Park will include in three different neighborhoods.

The community contains 45 acres of open space, and themed parks as well as The Grove—a centrally located five-acre activity center with an aquatic center, children’s play pool and basketball court—coming to the community in Phase 2.

When her new home hunt began, Crystal decided to follow Horace Greeley’s advice and “go West.” At Citrus Park, about 20 miles west of Phoenix, Crystal hit the jackpot. The community is close to her family, and the surrounding area has good schools and plenty of outdoor activities for her and her son. It is also adjacent to I-10 Freeway, which provides easy access to downtown Phoenix.

“I love everything about our five-bedroom home—especially the first floor’s open layout and the fact that all bedrooms are upstairs,” Crystal said. “An unexpected and delightful extra is the walk-in pantry next to the kitchen. I also like the bright interior paint and windows that bring in lots of light.”

The upstairs area, she said, will provide space for Amir to have his own room and another for her adult daughter, who likes to visit. And there will be room for grandchildren sometime down the road, she said.

Crystal has a hybrid job that allows her to work from home several days a week, so the built-in smart home features, such as Wi-Fi extenders and bandwidth, are a must for an in-home office.

Crystal said she is also looking forward to the pool for those hot Arizona summers.

As impressive as the house is, the overall sales process was similarly superb.

“The Landsea Homes sales team was super friendly and super informative,” said Crystal. “Despite my nature as an over-planner, the Landsea team has been right there with information and to take me by the house as it progresses.”

That has also been a highlight for Amir. “He gets excited to see the house built,” Crystal said.  “He gets to wear a hard hat.”

“It was so appealing and had added touches and treats, like the pantry, that I may not have selected or thought about initially,” Crystal said. “I’m a minimalist. Buying a spec house forced me to get some luxury.”

On reflection, Crystal realized, treating herself every so often is not such a bad thing. “I’ve told myself, it’s good,” she said.
