A Dream Come True for First-Time Homeowners at Marlowe by Landsea Homes

Glendale, Arizona (January 22, 2024) Jennifer and Nick didn’t have to travel far to find their dream home. In fact, they watched the construction of the Marlowe community by Landsea Homes from the earliest stages.

The Glendale natives said new development in that area was rare, so they were intrigued. “We watched the whole process,” Jennifer said. “We drove in, and we were very excited.” They love the Glendale area for its safety, schools, high-quality city services and events, amenities, proximity to Jennifer’s job in Phoenix and overall active community.

“We wanted to stay in this school district for the kids,” said Jennifer, who has a toddler and a 16-year-old godson. “We also really wanted new. Many of the resale homes are old and would have required thousands of dollars in renovations.”

At Marlowe, a master-planned community that consists of 80 single-family homes, Jennifer and Nick’s dream came true. Jennifer said for the same price she would have paid for an older home, she was able to buy a sleek new home with smart home technology and flexible living space.

“It immediately felt like the right community for us, and we were eager to get in,” Jennifer said.

According to Jennifer, the Landsea Homes sales team made the process delightful. The couple ultimately decided on a two-story, 2,100-square-foot home in the Malta style with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a downstairs flex room and bath that Jennifer and Nick converted to a guest room for their older parents.

Particularly pleasing to Jennifer was the expansive cabinet space in the kitchen—double what they had in their rental home—the bright white backsplashes, natural light, open floor plan and nine-foot vaulted entryway. They were also able to buy a home with an expansive backyard on a corner lot across the street from a tot lot and park.

The couple purchased their home through Landsea Mortgage, which couldn’t have worked out better. “It was a huge bonus to work with the Landsea Mortgage team. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful to us as first-time homebuyers.”

Among the benefits the couple enjoyed was Landsea Homes covering closing costs and offering a “three-two-one buydown,” which gives borrowers a three-year break from the original interest rate plus the ability to refinance should rates drop in the interim.

The High Performance Home, with home automation technology supported by Apple® and offered in all Landsea Homes properties, has also been a godsend. Jennifer said, “My utility costs have been cut in half since moving in.”

As popular as the house is with the couple, it’s even more so with the rest of the family, including their two dogs—Maya, a husky, and Beasley, a three-year-old border collie. And the couple’s three-year-old son delights in plopping down the stairs and counting each one as he goes.

“We’re still in disbelief. We never thought we’d be this young and be homeowners,” said Jennifer, who is 32 and an “outlier” in a family of mostly renters. “We can’t believe this is our house.”
