The position is responsible for supporting the Corporate and Division teams in a variety of professional level accounting duties. Role will ensure that accounting work complies with GAAP and company policies and procedures. This position will directly report to the Corporate Controller.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Perform month end close – including recording journal entries, accruals, and allocations
• Become an expert user within the ERP (Dynamics 365) and integrated HB1 subledger system. This role will be a primary administrator of these systems.
• Reconcile and prepare statistical data such as sales, backlog and lots owned and controlled
• Review and reconcile intercompany accounts and communicate with Division finance teams as necessary to balance
• Partner with the IT department to create financial dashboards, KPI reports within Power BI
• Work with cross functional teams in integrating acquisitions
• Assist in preparation of internal and external audit requests
• Ensures compliance with company policies, SOX controls, and GAAP
• Assist in preparation of quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) SEC financial reporting

• Assist with the timely and accurate reporting of all monthly financial information including preparation of month-end schedules, account reconciliations and analysis, and corporate reporting requirements
• Perform technical accounting research and prepare internal memorandums to document the Company’s conclusions on accounting matters.
• Participate in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, significant transactions or initiatives, etc.
• Ad hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Key qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years experience within real estate or manufacturing industries within a mid-size ($500m+) public company with multi-state operations
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other major ERP accounting system
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strict reporting deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
