Mayor Walsh, Samuels & Associates and partners celebrate first milestone for The Fenway’s striking gateway property

(Boston, MA) Mayor Martin Walsh and Boston City Councilor Josh Zakim joined developer Samuels & Associates, in partnership with Landsea and in association with Weiner Ventures, to celebrate the groundbreaking of Pierce Boston this morning. Pierce will be a striking 30-story tower at the corner of Boylston Street and Brookline Avenue, reshaping the Boston skyline from the west with its dramatic profile.

The tower design is bold and contemporary, drawing the eye upward with its glass-wrapped exterior, slender profile and triangular site that is visually striking from all angles. Designed by world-renowned architects Arquitectonica as their first Boston property, Pierce Boston will include 109 condominium units, 240 rental units and more than 20,000 square feet of street-level retail and restaurant space. On-site amenities will include a rooftop swimming pool, fitness center, restaurant, 24/7 concierge service and 80 adjacent parking spaces.

“Pierce Boston is going to be a striking and innovative addition to the Fenway neighborhood, and to the City of Boston’s skyline,” said Mayor Walsh. “As we continue to build our city, we want to build creatively, and that is exactly what Pierce Boston represents. I want to thank Samuel & Associates for their continued investment in Fenway, Arquitectonica, as well as all the other partners involved in this project.”

Situated in the heart of the city, Pierce Boston is a fresh addition to Boston’s most vibrant and flourishing neighborhood, The Fenway. It is the only building of its kind in the area, and will significantly raise the profile of the neighborhood and add a contemporary sophistication to Boston’s skyline.

“The Fenway has been completely reinvigorated over the last decade, and Pierce Boston is the jewel in its crown,” said Steve Samuels, chairman and principal, Samuels & Associates. “This is our first project to make this level of impact on Boston’s skyline, and it will add a sense of drama and beauty to this gateway parcel that will be like nothing the city has seen before.”

“This venture represents the next stage in Landsea’s vision of establishing a national U.S. residential development company,” said Landsea Founder and Chairman Tian Ming. “With its strong foundation in education, medical sciences and regional economics, Boston continues to attract top employers, students and investors. The northeast region, and Boston in particular, provides the basic investment traits we value in our growth here in the U.S.”

Condo sales for The Fenway’s tallest tower, which is slated to open in 2018, will begin early in the New Year. The Collaborative Companies is the exclusive sales and marketing agency for Pierce Boston.

Arquitectonica spans the globe, with projects in 54 countries on five continents.
