Home Buying Tips: What You Need to Know

The new year brings prospective homeowners to the forefront. Here at Landsea, we want to make sure you’re informed of what’s to come with the home buying process. When you purchase a home with us, our sales counselors’ top priority is to get you into the home of your dreams with ease.

Here are some tips to get you started:

There are four things to remember when buying a new home: size, design, location and your budget. Consider your use of space. What style of home is ideal for you and your family? What are your most desired features? Decide what amenities you’re looking to have nearby and determine a price point, down payment and monthly payment you’re comfortable with. Finally, get pre-approved for a loan.

When financing your home, follow these suggestions and the likelihood of obtaining a new home will be greatly increased.

  • Don’t pay off your bills (unless specified by your loan officer)
  • Do not increase your credit balance
  • Stay at your current job
  • Pay your bills on time
  • Do not make major purchases or any unusual deposits into your bank account without sufficient proof of the fund’s source

The escrow process starts once your purchase agreement has been fully executed by both buyer and seller (Landsea) and you have provided your sales counselor with a deposit check.

The process is almost complete. Once all of the requirements have been met, final loan approval will be issued and you’ll sign your loan documents. When your loan has been funded and mortgage recorded, you’ll receive the keys to your new home!
